A free support service offered to people over the age of 60 or over 40 if they have a physical disability.

Support can be offered with issues such as maintaining a tenancy, budgeting and finances, signposting to/accessing other agencies, and reading and explaining mail.

Support is tailored to the individual and usually takes place in the service users home.

A free support service to help vulnerable adults who are over the age of 18 to remain independent at home.

Support can be offered with tasks such as maintaining a tenancy, form filling, funding applications, signposting and help to access other relevant organizations for more specialist help such as debt problems or welfare benefits applications.

Jigsaw's Independence Service is the answer for local people with support needs who want to live their life, just the way they want to.  The Independence Service delivers at home, high quality, trustworthy and caring support for adults in North Nottinghamshire.  The service is non-profit making and its mission is to meet your support need, whatever that may be, so you can be as independent as possible, safe and in control.

We can offer you support to attend appointments, participate in hobbies, attend family events and accompany you on outings.  We'll help you to do your shopping, by taking you to the shops or doing it for you which ever is appropriate.  We'll do the same with helping you to keep on top of the cleaning, either by helping you or doing it for you, whichever you prefer.  You're in control at every stage, its your support, your way.

Isolation and loneliness affect many older people in Mansfield and Ashfield. Jigsaw's befriending service matches volunteers to those in need of company and friendship.

The service is open to anyone over 60 years of age living alone with little or no family contact within the Mansfield and Ashfield areas.

What the volunteer does can vary greatly, it could be playing dominoes, helping with a crossword, reading the newspaper or just having a cup of tea and a chat.

All that matters is that company is provided and isolation is reduced.
